Teach 500 School about Neurofibromatosis
Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a complex genetic condition. Special Educational Need Coordinators are swamped with considerations and we know how to help; we just need to get the right materials to the right place. Please help us do this.
The Neuro Foundation believes that children with NF have no lesser potential than those who do not, but caring for a child with NF is sometimes complex, and there can be a multitude of extra considerations to take into account. We want to provide schools with information packs and connect them to support networks to enable educators to provide the quality of education and care that will give children with NF the start in life that they deserve. Together, we can stand up for those children.
It's a simple solution, by arranging school visits and providing resources and where necessary, we can enable schools to help children grow and learn to the best of their ability. We are able to facilitate school visits, but we need your help to fund these services.
The potential for impact here is exponential. For every child living with NF, up to 8 additional people are in need of support. If we can educate 500 schools to care for children with NF, we can potentially help 4,000 people to support children living with NF, in the short term. Additionally, each SENCO provided with support and information enables a school to receive any number of children affected by NF in the future, leaving an even greater impact in the long term.
